August 2025 Newsletter

Family, friends, and supporters – greetings in the name of Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:3-6- We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people — the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world.

Thank you for your prayers. I can feel your prayers and I know the Lord speaks to you and tells you when to pray, so thank you so very much. I am very humbled by all of you and your care and love. THANK YOU.

Pastor Winston at my church said to me I have the fire back in me, I said, “Yes, I was very tired doing five months without a break”. But now I am back at work on the A Kiwi’s House of Aroha and getting the land.

He sends His Angels concerning you
Psalms 91:11- For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

Twenty-five years ago, the Lord gave me these words: “I will send you a woman who will help you with your ministry.” In March 2024, I was speaking at a church when the Lord spoke clearly to me and said, “This is she.” I asked, “Who is she?” Then I was reminded of the word the Lord had given me 25 years earlier. I am so thankful that the Lord had now brought this lady across my path to help with the ministry.

There were some things that came up that I had to urgently deal with in New Zealand, so I had to make an emergency trip back home. The Lord had told me that He would give me a missionary visa for Uganda and it would be valid for three years, and true to His word, after the offices had already closed on Friday and just before I left, I received an email saying that the visa had been granted. Praise the Lord!
This is where Liz Connor comes into the picture.

Liz is a pastor at 3C Church in Picton, New Zealand, and is married to Pastor Geoff. She left her home and family to fly up to Auckland to meet me at the airport, and pushed me in my wheelchair to help me to her rental car. I needed the wheelchair as my legs had swollen painfully during the flight.

I had accidentally left my phone in the pocket of the plane seat, so Liz rushed back to get it. I sat in the car and prayed. On the way, she prayed, “Please don’t let Sandra worry about the phone, Jesus.” At that precise moment, I heard Him say, “She has the phone in her hand and is on the way back to the car.” Praise the Lord, who takes care of our every need!

Liz drove me to WINZ and presented my papers to them. Then she drove us to the Airbnb in Whangarei where we were booked in for four days. After dropping our bags at the Airbnb, she took me straight to A&E at Whangarei Hospital. Though there was a long wait, by 10 p.m. I had my heart checked and had an ECG, as well as D-Diner clot blood tests done with scans. I was discharged and was told to come back the following day to get the medication adjustment.

Liz truly is appointed by God, and after my waiting for 25 years, I can honestly say that I’m so thankful for His words to us. I’m blessed and praise God. Liz was amazing and she swung into action the very next day after she picked me up from the airport. These are her achievements, through our precious Lord and Saviour.

In four days, and she accomplished all these things:

  1. She arranged the bank card for Africa with last digits 08.

  2. Sorted my book prices for Peru and Uganda.

  3. Signed the papers for the buyer of my car.

  4. Put the caravan on Trade Me to sell.

  5. Got my portability pension from WINZ

  6. Liz gave me a new Bible

  7. Arranged my new medication.

  8. Booked my flight back to Uganda.

To top it off she gave me a week at an Air B&B for a rest. It was so wonderful and so very much needed.
During our time together, Liz and I were talking about how I should go about getting new board members.
She immediately said that she would like to be a board member. Of course, I accepted her right away. We
also had a board meeting via zoom and minutes were taken. I am so thankful.

The greatest gift was her obedience to the Lord. When she left me to fly back home, I cried as I stood
watching her go and knowing that God had sent her to me as he said He would all those years ago.

Whilst in New Zealand, I spent 3 days with my son Brent, and then three days with my daughter Andrea,
and the grandchildren Sian 21 yrs and Casey 18yrs came around for a meal and a movie. Brent called in as
well so it was a great time to unwind. I had a phone call from my other son, Vaughan, and my sister, Clare.
Before I knew it, was time to go back to Uganda again.

We welcome Liz Connor as a new board member to our team.

God’s Appointments

On my way back to New Zealand, I was travelling between flights, and the shuttle bus took us to the gates.
A young man boarded the bus—a French teenager, about 17 years old—who sat next to me. I asked him

where he was going, and he told me he was heading to Waikiki Island for a holiday. I felt prompted by the
Holy Spirit to share, “Look at all that God has done.”

He asked, “Are you a Christian?” I responded affirmatively, saying, “Yes, I am a Christian.” He then asked
me, “What has God done?” I told him about my experiences living in China, and that I had saved 670
babies. I mentioned that God has now called me to Uganda. However, it seemed he misunderstood and
thought I was saying that I saved cats and dogs, as he just nodded his head, seemingly not fully
understanding. I clarified that I had saved babies who had been abandoned and left outside to die. His
reaction was powerful; he was reduced to tears and said, “I have never heard such things. I will never be
the same again. It’s an honour to meet you.”

I continued sharing with him until he got off the bus. As he collected his bags and stood up, he placed a
hand on his heart, tears in his eyes, and said, “I will never be the same again. Thank you for your service to
the Lord.” Others around us, including the flight attendants, were also touched by what he said, impressed
by someone so young expressing such profound appreciation. It’s amazing who God touches and the way
they respond. Praise the Lord!

On the plane coming back to Uganda, I noticed a man sitting across from me with a Bible on his knee.
When he stood up to leave, I saw that he was wearing a T-shirt with "NZ" on it. I struck up a conversation
with him and learned that he is Rev. Andrew Jones, an Anglican pastor from Canterbury. He was travelling
with Rev. Henry Blair from Ireland, and both were returning to Uganda at the invitation of their host, Rev.
James Arinca. I took a photo of the location where the meeting was to be held. Due to jet lag, I ended up
missing the 10 am service, but attended a healing meeting on Sunday at 4 PM, and once again, I witnessed
God's work in my life.

The teaching focused on deliverance and healing. When they called people up to receive prayer, we
formed two lines - one line prayed for us, and then we turned around to pray for them. I mentioned to
Rev. James, who was praying for me, that I was experiencing swelling and pain in my ankle. He asked me a
few questions, one of which was about any babies or children I had. This led to a discussion with the Lord
about forgiveness. I was reminded of the babies in China, as well as my own children whom I had
entrusted to the Lord's care while I went to China. I didn't want my decision to go to China to be a
stumbling block to their faith and walk with the Lord. I sought forgiveness by humbling myself and praying,
and through God's grace, I began to feel healing from those past hurts. It was very difficult for me to leave
my children to pursue what I believed God wanted me to do.

Now, I trust that God will heal them from any thoughts and pain related to my absence, as my actions
were intended to glorify the Lord and for no other reason. When everything was finished, I was amazed to
find that I had no pain and could move without difficulty. Praise the Lord!

A visit to France

A while back, I went to France to visit five babies from China and their families. I was invited to speak at
their church in Lannion. Pastor Denis Biava and his wife told me they believed God had sent me and
welcomed whatever the Lord wanted to do. In that church, the women never spoke from the front. Pastor
Denis declared it was time for women to begin speaking — and I knew I was on the frontline! I told him I
had been fasting and praying for the church for three days, believing God would move powerfully and was
believing that God was going to do something amazing. And He did. God really moved in that church.
Recently I sent a three-minute video explaining what I was doing in Uganda, and now they want to know
how they can help. How wonderful that the Lord is putting it on the hearts of people to come and help.

Words of Encouragement to You

My friends, Wake-up time is NOW.

Hosea 4:1, 2 - Hear the word of the LORD, you Israelites, because the LORD has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed.
Mark 11:23,24 - “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Romans 10:17 - Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Keep these three verses in your heart and remember them: Hosea 4:1 – 2 (the warning); Mark 11:23 (the
power of faith) and Romans 10:17 as they all build on each other.

Hosea 4:1-2. You will know when the Lord brings a charge against you for cursing, lying, murdering, stealing and adultery. It is blood for blood.

It has become rampant with violence; it follows another moral decay and corruption in society, and the
need for spiritual awakening is now.

We look at Mark 11:23. The power of faith is important in having a strong faith in God's promises. It
encourages you all through hearing what God has done which comes from bible studies, reading and
believing God’s Word.

Praises

  • Hospital results showed that the blood clots are gone.

  • The D-dimer blood test was normal at 260.

  • The fluid around my heart is gone.

  • No evidence of coronary artery disease. “Impression (from medical report): Sandra does not have a significant pericardial effusion. She also has no evidence of significant coronary artery disease today. She has hypertension, which is the likely cause of her diastolic dysfunction and LV hypertrophy.”

God has healed me from heart disease, and I have told them to update my file. Praise the Lord!

We Need Prayer

  • Please pray for Pastor Geoff Connor as he has a chest infection and a terrible cough.

  • I urgently need someone to help me buy a car. Perhaps someone can anyone spare a holiday (2-4 weeks) to do something for the Lord?

  • I need to buy land, and need someone who knows the Ugandan way to help.

  • I urgently need a PA, and help with setting up a filing system.

  • I also need help with determining appropriate wages to pay people and organising all things concerning HR.

Update from A Kiwi’s House of Aroha – We Need Your Help!

We are so thankful for all that God is doing through A Kiwi’s House of Aroha here in Kampala, Uganda. Our dream of building a loving home for orphaned and vulnerable children is taking shape, but right now we have some very specific and urgent needs in order to keep moving forward.

What we need immediately:

  • Basic infrastructure: building homes for the children, apartments for volunteers, and a reliable vehicle to ensure safe and practical transport.

  • Water and essential services: we have already been able to drill a well, but we still require support to install the motor, pump and storage tanks.

  • Staff and volunteers: we are seeking trustworthy and committed people to serve as security guards, cooks, cleaners, nurses, laundry staff, resource administrators, drivers and childcare providers. We also welcome international volunteers with skills in teaching, healthcare, construction, spiritual formation and recreation.

  • Sustainability: our goal is to establish gardens and small farming projects, providing fresh food for the children and working towards self-sufficiency.

Ways you can help:

  • You can join this mission through our sponsorship programme, offering regular support and becoming part of this vital work for the most vulnerable.

  • You can also contribute by purchasing our fundraising products: the Life Trilogy of Sandra King (an inspiring story of how she established orphanages in China for children with disabilities), as well as our merchandise, including T-shirts and hoodies.

Every gesture of support is an answer from God for the little ones who are waiting for a brighter and hope-filled future.

With gratitude and love,

The team at A Kiwi’s House of Aroha.
