February 2026 Newsletter
Sandra King
Family, friends, and supporters – greetings in the name of Jesus Christ.
I can truly say that the last year from Feb15th 2025 to this Feb 2026 has been the most trying time in my whole life.
But through it all I kept close to the Lord.
Psalms 62:1-2 - Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress; I will never be shaken.

When we first arrived, we went around a lot of churches to see which one would suit us. As we were new to the area, we didn’t know what times they started and ended.
We arrived at one church half way through the worship, at the end of the worship, the pastor said, “Now the Muzungu (white face) has come in late, we will send the collection plate out again, so she will give”. In Ugandan. Thank God I didn’t hear it or understand him.
When I got out to the car, after the service, the guys said to me, “Do you know what he said about you?” I said, “No.” After they explained it to me, they told me that they thought I won’t go back there again.
The next Sunday we went to another church and here the pastor said, “Because the white face has just come in the middle of the service, we must tell her so she will come earlier next time.”
I was told what he said again when we got out to the car. I was so embarrassed, but honestly don’t know when they start as the services are all back-to-back with each one so they look like they all run into one another all the time.
But we found the Baptist Rock View Church, that’s really solid on The Word and the Holy spirit is there. After the Pastor Ronald preached a great sermon, I was fully recharged and helped putting the chairs away and still singing and the spirit stayed with me a long time so I was blessed.

Repairs to the car
With the shocking state of the roads, it’s no wonder things fall to bits. My car had to have new brake pads. While waiting for the repair work to be done, I saw a truck pass with a lot of people on it and thought it was funny. But then I saw the cars stop and I wondered what it could it be that stopped the cars and caused such a traffic jam. I found out it was a lot of cows walking down the main street.

The unbearable heat and great storm
On day it was 39.12°C it was too hot even to breathe. A few days later, there was a huge storm and the wind that was so strong along with thunder and lightning, it was very scary. The thunder and lightning were so loud and power went off for several days and we still survived by the grace of God.
Psalms 63:1 - You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

Staff update
Sarah is our new cook. She dresses the part with her white hat and coat. She cooks a little western food. She is catholic and is a good cook. We do bible study together and she loves the Lord.
Her husband was poisoned and died at 34 years old, leaving her with her 5 children. The children’s ages are 16 ,15, 12, 11 and 7 years old. Then Sarahs husbands’ brother died of TB and his wife also died and left 4 children and now she looks after them too. They are 13, 10, 8 and 3 years old.
I would like all of you to pray for her and the children. God had got big plans for her and the children she cares for. Should you wish to give a love offering to me I will ensure you that she will receive it and acknowledge your gift should you want to bless her.

God is restoring all to Kokas
Kokas is a 16year old boy who was a shepherd and used to look after cows along the road. He was introduced to us by Francis, a teacher at St. Francis Secondary School for the blind or impaired eye sight, and brought him to me and I was taken with him right away. In the photos he was shy at first, and he didn’t speak much. So, I started teaching him English and a lot of hand signs. Now he’s good and we do hand signs to one another too if he doesn’t get it.
But after three weeks and a lot of water fights, he has now relaxed and gives back what he gets now. I thought it was time for Kokas to see his siblings as he misses them. So, we took a trip for him to see his family.
This is my first visit to the countryside where Kokas is from and we met the family and we were shown their church. It has a dirt floor, grass on the roof and people sit on the dirt floor. It was like a mud hut in New Zealand. I was saddened that they only have one bible for 40 people so when I was to go back next, I would give them the much-needed bibles to the 40 people who go to that church. The three ladies sat on the floor and all the children came to look at the white face. I was asked to pray for the two ladies and I did.
While we were traveling along the road Kokas yelled out it’s my dad. We got out of the car to meet him and found out that he’s a fisherman. Koka’s is very proud of him and told us about his fishing with nets.
While I was talking about him and the nets, I felt the holy spirit nudged me to give Kokas some fishing nets. And to set him up in business with his father together so they can work and catch fish, then sell the fish in town by working together and earn an income. As the saying goes: give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
Matthew 4:19 - “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
We went to town and bought the nets and all the things he might need like gumboots and rope and nylon to secure the nets to the back of the lake.
I have been collecting things for him to take back with any excuse for a farewell party for him. We all will miss him and his loud singing and praising God.
Then shortly afterwards we left. I wanted to set this boy up as I had met his father. I have given him a fishing net like his father and his father will teach him all he needs to know..

So, we are going back up to take Kokas back to be with his family as he was with us for three weeks, and also we planned to be there at 3pm to give the bibles to those who wanted one.
Turning 80.
I will be arriving home in May, and will stay for a month for my birthday. First I will travel down to see Liz and Geoff in Picton and then go to Blenheim to spend a week there. I will then be traveling up to Whangarei to spend my birthday with family. I will be 80 on Kings birthday weekend, so looking forward to getting to see every one again.

I am saddened by the departure of a doctor.
I had a birthday party for the Doctor and his wife and child. I had arranged to pick them up at 5pm but they weren’t at home when I arrived, so he arranged it for the next day at the same time and same place but again, no one came and there was no text no phone call. If you can’t be there let someone know.
This reminded me of the scripture where there was a dispute between Paul and Barnabas and they had gone their separate ways.
I’ve always thought your yes is yes and no is no.
2 Timothy 3:16 - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
But the Dr didn’t like it and made him angry.
Peter, a friend, and I called the doctor to let him know we were going down to his house but when we arrived so then I decided to pay him for the work he had done to appreciate him but he had fled.
He turned up at the gate of my house very furious, but the two guards at the gate were standing with me and told him to come in but he wouldn’t come in and I would not go out either. When he saw the guard on his uniform he got on his motorbike and left. Then we decided to send the money to his mobile phone and we closed that door.
He continues to text by trying to contact me after one abusive text in which he swore at me.
Psalms 64
1 Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the plots of evildoers.
3 They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows. 4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent; they shoot suddenly, without fear.
5 They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares;
they say, “Who will see it?”
6 They plot injustice and say, “We have devised a perfect plan!” Surely the human mind and heart are cunning.
7 But God will shoot them with his arrows; they will suddenly be struck down.
8 He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
9 All people will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what has been done.
10 The righteous will rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will glory in him!
An unexpected development
Roselyn (the lovely student who has been helping me in the office while waiting to start school in September), had spoken to a teacher at school about my waiting three months to get registered and still no licenses or permit to stay here in the city. The teacher knew the lady in the council and spoken with her and It was decided they wanted me to go and see them at 10am.
I was reluctant to do so, but said I will go and listen and I decided I was not going to smile. I had clear direction from the Lord that there will be one word it will be spoken and I will know His hand is on it. I said, “Okay Lord” and it was just as He had said.
After the lady at the council read the rules to me, she said its best she comes and looks at the place. I wanted to ring home straight away and say get ready. But I didn’t have time.
I drove her to our home and as we all piled out, I explained to her the guards’ quarters and the nannies’ rooms and outside shower and toilet.
I started to relax by now and was smiling. At least someone came.
She was impressed and said we were ready. So, when we arrived back in the office she gave us a tick, she gave me a paper to say go and pay the registration fee and we will give you the permit. I felt for sure there was going to be another bribe coming up.
It was all done within a half an hour. Praise the Lord.
I got in the car and about to go when Roselyn said, “There were no bribes!!!!”.
The holy spirit was all over those words and I knew this what the Lord had said. I will know it’s right and had his hand on it. Praise the Lord.
Kokas goes home
I raced home had some lunch and Kokas said he needed a haircut, also the night guard said, “Me too!”. So, I took them to get haircut. It was then 2:30pm and we were supposed to be at Kokas place by that time. Everything was all thrown into the car so fast as we were very late after getting the haircut. I had made two trips to the bible society and got another lot of bibles. I signed each one and blessed them, packed up all the thirty-eight bibles. I had gifts felt pens and papers for Kokas and some small gifts and things to give to the kids.
A few phone calls later and they knew we were coming.
Our arrival to where Kokas’s family were all living next door to the church. I was met with squeals of laughter and much ululating.
We went to Kokas room to make sure he’s settled, last night he revealed that he had no mattress and slept on the dirt floor. We gave him one with a mosquito net, sheets and a pillow and all so he was set.
Went outside to the church see the people outside waiting for us. I asked them why they said it was because I was giving bibles away.
As we went into the church, I saw that it was packed! There were about 50 people inside and I got a fright to see them all just quiet and waiting. Some had been there all day since very early in the morning until 4pm when I arrived.
I met the pastor and then we opened in prayer and we started to give out the bibles. They crowded in so much. I asked if we could give bibles to the men first, and then the grandmothers. Next were mums with lots of children. One lady had 10 children and I gave one to her. The ones who had been there since early in the morning were given one too. A woman had her hand out to get a bible and the pastor said to her that her husband has got one so she couldn’t get one. I told the pastor afterwards that if a wife wants a bible and her husband has got one, we don’t want them to fight over it. I asked if I could please have their names and I will get one to them. That made them very happy. The ladies sang a song to me and paid honor to me and I spoke a few words to encourage them.
The photos are very dark but that is because they are mud huts and church is raw so there is no lighting.
It was a wonderful experience taking Kokas back and that he will go fishing with his dad. We arrived home about 5pm. All Glory to God and all his works.

A Clarion Call
What is it that burns within our hearts?
Is it only the longing for affection, for stability, for a life without upheaval?
We have believed in salvation, in the death of the Lamb for the atonement of sins… but does the calling end there? There is more.
The Father’s heart did not design a comfortable faith or a life without challenges. He called us to walk on water, to believe when we do not see, to be carriers of His glory in territories where dawn has not yet broken.
Sandra has taught us that the Creator opens ways where there are none, that He places resources where it is humanly impossible, that He makes deserts bloom. But she also, like every faithful servant, goes through moments of physical, emotional and spiritual battle.
And although strength comes from the Lord, we were made to be a body. We were designed to uphold one another, to intercede, to lift one another’s arms in the midst of war.
Today we invite you to let the prayers of a few become the cry of many.
May this warrior not face the giant alone.
May there be an invisible yet powerful army standing behind her.
May the power and authority that flow from Heaven be manifested over this territory, that darkness would retreat and the plans of the enemy be exposed and dismantled.
May the Lord also activate hearts, confirm purposes and send those who must go to serve, support and walk alongside Sandra in this mission.
May labourers arise, willing hands and ready feet to respond: “Here I am, send me.”
Sandra is not only serving; she is conquering spiritual ground, fishing for souls, hosting the needy and extending the Kingdom.
Come. Join us.
Be part of this story that Heaven is writing.
Sustain in prayer what God is raising up.
Bless you, Milla
