Romans 10:9 – 11
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

Progress

Well, we are having a quiet month of October so far, but it’s been a month of battle and I’m thankful not much else was needed to be done.

Our website crashed and was down for some time, but Edwin has created a wonderful new website. It’s up and running now and you can click on www.sandraking.org.nz to view the progress. He is still making some improvements to it and adding more content, but you are also now able to directly enter your email
address to subscribe to receive the monthly newsletter as well as order copies of my books.

We had the first meeting of all who contribute to the newsletter: Edwin, Liz, Candice and myself were all from New Zealand. Milla lives in Argentina, but it was after midnight for her and she was unable to make it due to time zone differences and we are not yet on time travel. This meeting took place early in the morning for me in Uganda.

We have finalised a procedure to email out emergency prayer requests, and if needed in an emergency, as well as plans to get me out of Uganda quickly if needed.

Emergency Procedures

At least now that I am in Uganda, we’ve got the plans in place if anything happens. There is a Plan A and that is for emergency prayer. Mary, my next-door neighbour, will notify Cindy in England because Cindy speaks Chinese. Then Cindy will contact my Pastor, Liz, in New Zealand. Liz then will send a message to go out to those who receive the newsletter to pray urgently for me concerning whatever the situation is.
Now Edwin and Liz are both able to send the messages that go out to every one either on the website or out on email for urgent prayer.

This reminds me of my urgent flight out of China when I had gone into China with Jian Hua foundation. It was there I met my dear friend, Doug Plummer, who is from England. He lived in Hong Kong and it was within the first year of me being in China. He told me if I get sick to ring him and fast as I was new in the country and didn’t know who to believe when it came to medical advice. I became ill and I was in so much pain and couldn’t walk. So he arranged the flight out of China to Hong Kong. In Hong Kong I was lowered by a hoist in my wheelchair to the ground from the plane and was rushed me to the hospital where I remained in for four days until I was well enough to leave. It was a scary time but God was with me all the way.

What was done in the darkness will be revealed

Luke 12:2-3 - There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.

What was done in the dark in those early days has now been revealed, and bought out into the light. All because a lady, who had just started working for me, took the two papers from my office on her very first day on the job. I had seen her with some papers in her hands when she was standing at the back door, and I asked her, “What’s that?”. She quickly hid the papers in her clothes and said, “Nothing!” That night before bed, the Lord said, “Check the papers”, so I did, and found them missing out of my folder of government’s documents.

So hence I went to the URSB (Uganda Registration Services Bureau) government offices looking for copies of the papers that were missing. While there, it was made known to me that they did not have my name or email or phone number on file, and also that my name was not registered as the CEO of a Kiwi’s House of Aroha. It was all the doing of the very first lawyer.

The lady in the office gave me an online portal and password to get into the URSB web site. When I arrived home, I put the password in to see all the papers the government had record of that had been submitted for me by the lawyer on my behalf.

But it was cleaned out, and there was not a single document on the portal. I rang the lady at URSB and the lady said that this person, the very first lawyer that I had engaged, had planned to take over the company by erasing all the information and leaving it empty for a year or so. No one would know. Then they strike to present the papers to say it’s their company.

Look what God did! He revealed all the things to us. The man tried to hide things from us but when God told me to check the papers, that all lead to God bringing it all out into the open. That lawyer’s name is now known to them, and they will be keeping an eye on him. Please pray for justice to be served to him. God will deal with him for what he did by hindering the work of the Lord.

Romans 12:19 - Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

I had several people say to me when they prayed for the company, there was a block and they didn’t know what that was until I told them that it comes from the early days when someone cheated us.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

I thank God for the lady who took the papers from me so that all this could be revealed. But she also took some gold earrings that are very precious to me. The earrings were from Laura’s grandmother as a gift when Laura was first adopted. Laura was my first baby, so they are very special to me. Although I hold everything very lightly in my hands, I said to the Lord, if you want me to have these back, they will be returned to me because everything belongs to you, Lord. So, it is with joy I look forward to all the jewels you will give me in heaven. But praise the Lord, not long after I prayed this prayer, I found the earrings had been returned and were on the door mat outside my front door.

Banking

But this ordeal at the URSB also led to us to ask the question about the bank. We were looking at Equity Bank to go but it didn’t work out. So, the lady at the URSB she said that I had a paper that is a resolution to open an account at Standard Chartered Bank. I had this bank in Hong Kong so know it’s a good bank.

We had an appointment to sign the documents with double signatures for the money that comes in and goes out. What this means to us is that I do not have to carry all the cash strapped to my body that I drew from the ATM twice over a period of 24 hours for over six days to get enough funds out of my bank to pay for the land as I had to when I had to pay for car.

Buying the land

I have been told by the Lord, to be careful about buying the land that we were looking at, and He told me that the land is polluted and that something was being hidden. I then found out that that this was true and that many bad things had happened on this land so we will continue to look at other options.

Any land out that is out in the country, about an hour’s drive away from Kampala City where I live, is not that expensive. Later this week we will be looking at about 5 pieces of land with some good houses on them, all within a 35km radius of my current location. The team from China are here again this day and they are planning to come and see the land as well.

More help is on the way
Many of you would remember Ron & Debra Heitfield from Guangzhou, when he worked for Nike, and Debra was an enormous help to me getting the orphanage set up. Not forgetting all the laughs and we had fun doing it too. Well, they lived in Guernsey for some time and then moved to Reno, USA. Their daughter Britta married a man from Guernsey and settled in the USA. Out of the blue I got an email and then was followed up with a phone call from a man who introduced himself as Anthony Hourellebecq. He is Britta’s father-in-law and he is working here in Seeta near Kampala. We met up for coffee at a coffee shop, and he brought two other men were with him. This meeting was incredibly anointed and ordained by God. Can you believe he lived was only 20min away all this time.

Debra and her sister, Cindra, were an amazing team, and it was Cindra and Randy, who adopted Mei Mei. Mei Mei is Ruth’s age.

Getting the newsletter out

The newsletter started off slow because of the huge battle I have been in. We were in prayer and our focus has been on a lot of praying and fasting.

The process for preparing the newsletter is that I sent it to Candice to edit it, after that it is sent to Milla who is an expert in formatting the newsletter and she adds in all the photos. When she is done then it is sent to Edwin who converts it into the right format and sends it out to all of you.

Up until now, the newsletter was going out in batches and so we never knew who got them or not, but now we’ll be able to get them all out at once which would be a lot easier for everyone.

Next month will be the Christmas newsletter and the last newsletter of the year.

T-Shirts and Book sales for fundraising
T shirts samples were done and we got a white and black design finalised which we are very happy with. Here is the sample.

On Friday I went in and saw them and an order has been placed.
We are also looking at getting plain black and white t-shirts with our logo on it to sell for people to support the ministry, as well as some t-shirts for the drivers and volunteers who come that they can use it while they are here.
I have taken photos of the three books and the t-shirts and will get them put on the doors of the van as well, as its free advertising while we drive around the sign written van with our books and t-shirts in the boot so we can sell them as we go.

Kiwi Ingenuity
Derrick, Mary and I went to China town to see if we could get trolleys for the big pot plants. We couldn’t find any, so I ended up buying wooden chopping board and three castor wheels to put under them, as a drill as I didn’t have one. I have attached the wheels onto the chopping board and what do you know! I have some perfect trolleys for my pot plant.

I’ve cut up a mozzie net from a bed, and after a few adjustments to add some magnets to hold them shut, I am going to put it over the two single doors which are my front entrance so that was a good idea to get that done.

The lady didn’t come from China to help me in the office, but the team arrived okay and they are all here.

Reprint of my books in NZ
The time has arisen again to get a reprint of my three books: The Call to China; The Mission in China and The Blessings from China in New Zealand. We will be reprinting 200 more books. Kiwi shoe polish
Everyone knows of good old Kiwi shoe polish here in Uganda, and I think we’re a source of amusement to the local traffic police.

One day we were stopped by the traffic police, as it’s just a random stop to check on drivers’ licences and permits. I’m thankful I wasn’t driving this day, and they motioned us to pull over, so we did. It’s quite funny as they smiled and then said, “Aha, a Kiwi”, because it’s written on the door of the van.

Then he points to his shoes and says, “Kiwi” again. He said “‘that’s the only way he knows about ‘Kiwi’ is from that shoe polish.

I did tell him that we have kiwifruit, a Kiwi bird and that it doesn’t fly, kiwi shoe polish, but we are called kiwis too as we are New Zealanders and are known as Kiwis. And he laughed at us being called Kiwi people.

Now many of the traffic officers pull me over just to say, “Hi” as they recognise me. When I produce my Ugandan driver’s licence, they say, “Wow! That’s good.” Sometimes when they signal me to pull over, they then just tell me to carry on, carry on carry on and let me go through. It makes me smile.

Praises

• I thank and praise God for keeping me safe and that He goes ahead of me in every way. He is keeping me healthy, I sleep well and all strategies of the enemy are constantly being exposed.

We Need Prayer

• Prayers are needed for Geoff please for his health.

• Mila, we pray for you too for your health and all that you do for others, especially in caring for the lady in her final days.

• We pray for Clare and Rex that they will soon be able to take some campervan trips and get some much needed rest.

• Mila is undergoing dental surgery the first week of November. Let's pray that everything goes well, without complications.

Sandra's Prayer.

I was very encouraged this morning by these scriptures, as they made me realise that, even at the very end, he could still walk, drink from the brook, and hold his head high. I’m praying for all of you as you read my newsletter, and I pray that God will bless you abundantly — because He’s still sitting on the throne, He’s still in charge, and He’s still in control.

We just need to remember that it’s going to be all right. We can do this — we know we can, because we were prepared for this well in advance.

Praise the living God!
